La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ | review

This has been in my little overflowing testers box and I've been waiting till I had a couple of weeks to really commit to trying this. ** As a side point. I'll only ever really post about a product, especially skincare or haircare if:  A. It's a first impressions post, B. I've been testing the product and I didn't like it right away or C. If I've been using the product for at least 2+ weeks to really get a feel and track any difference or benefit from using it etc.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo + is described as an anti-blemish cream to target oily and blemish-prone skin, Unclog pores and refine the look of skin texture. I have been using this now every morning before I apply my primer and in the evening after I have cleansed and toned and I specifically apply this on my cheeks and nose which is where I have red cheeks, Large pores and sadly, Clogged pores. ( I have ordered myself a blackhead remover from amazon (here) so can't wait to take a steamed shower and go to town with that and then keep my nose clean and unclogged with this.

As with every product, something important is smell, even more so if its going on your face and I must say, I don't think I could begin to explain the smell, but its very clean and very fresh and I really like it. It's a white creamy texture as you can see above and I've been applying that amount to each cheek and working it in and over my nose. Once it's rubbed in, as you can see above it works into the skin as a clear cream and I personally don't find it sticky or tacky on the skin, It sinks into the skin like a dream!

I don't really have any scaring or too many blemishes on my face but it's really toned down the redness on my cheeks and nose, I mean its still there, but using both the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ along with my HealGel Eye serum that's under review atm ( Post will be up soon ), for the first time in a long time, I've not got any spots, my skin tone is looking more even and coupled with having my first round of laser surgery that has dramatically improved my chin and moustache facial hair, I've actually felt comfortable with no makeup on my skin and with these products doing half the work, It only aids my foundation or BB cream in giving me that fresh dewy flawless face for spring :)

Would I recommend this? Yes. I have seen a difference in my skin tone, I have seen the redness go down in my targeted areas. Would I repurchase this? Yes. I got mine in the 3for2 boots online for £15.50 (link) as I get points on my advantage card and I took advantage of the 3for2 but you can find it online cheaper but may have to pay several £'s for P&P so do shop around!

  1. I started off using this all over my face because I'm silly and I was getting really dry skin where I wasn't oily. Now like you I target it to blemishes, dark marks and pigmentation and it works so much better plus will last a lot longer. Love it!

    1. That's great hun! I don't think many would need it all over the face with one or two exceptions but using it on targeted areas and using it twice daily has really made a difference for me!

    1. I was just saying to one of my friends on twitter that bad feedback is just as important as good feedback as she didn't get on with this either! I still have some redness like I said but I have noticed a difference, maybe using it with my heal gel eye gel , the combo together
, but who knows haha. what type of skin do you have? xx

    1. haha, I hope this works for you Brittany! It's total mixed reviews! I saw everyone going on about it and had to read like 23424 reviews till I found out what it was far and having only slight redness on my cheeks didn't think I'd see much of a result but I'm so glad I got it and have been using it with my healgel. wether its a combination or one or the other, Ive been getting alot of compliments and I'm certainly not complaining :D xx

  5. I completely forgot I had some of this in my drawer so your review has reminded me to pull it out and start using it again! I suffer from acne and find it works really well. The La Roche Posay range is fantastic and I can't wait to try more of their products.
