Ted Baker black floral Nail Wraps | Review

Painting my nails has always been a pamper ritual for me, despite hardly ever giving myself enough time to let them dry so they chip haha, I know I'm not alone in thinking that they might of stumbled onto something genius with nail wraps.

I know there are different types of nail wraps you can get, Some you apply a polish to the nail and place a foil like wrap on the nail and the apply another coat of polish onto it and you are able to neatly tear away the unused wrap.  I know Kiko have nail wraps that you file off and now I'm here today to try Ted Bakers Nail wrap in Black Floral*!

The Ted Baker Nail Polish Strips (RRP £7.50 each ) come in 4 designs The floral which is a gorgeous spring design with flowers, The Rainbow which is a more sultry design, lots of warm tones and would look great on a darker skin tone, The Bird Design which is a simple black design with a bird in it and lastly, the Nail Wrap I'm reviewing today, The Black floral* this beautiful sultry jungle floral design.

I love the packaging, Its nice and girly and keeps the nail wraps clean and safe and flat! On the insert inside is how to apply them and its looks fairly easy! So lets see just how easy it is!

Before starting I applied my Rose Geranium Balm Balm ( Review here ) and used a cuticle stick to push back my cuticles and give me a better finish.

I started off by measuring each nail and picking the strip that fits best, If it does go over the cuticle, not to worry, you can file them off.

Placing them on wasn't too much of a problem for me, you peel the clear edge off the nail that was protecting it peel the wrap off the sheet and place it so that the end lines up with your cuticle like the picture above.  You are able to file round the nail edge which was actually rather tricky, and smooth it out all over so you can smooth it over the nail edge at the end and file it off.

I found filing wasnt a problem as it came off just fine, but it didn't leave a great texture on the ends of the nail and because the design was black it was showing white where it was filed off and for a bit of a perfectionist like me, it was bugging me that they didn't look all nice.

I only made a couple of mistakes where I was filing and got a bit file happy trying to get them to look nice and ended up taking off a bit of the design.

I can't say based on these nail wraps that I'd purchase them myself. I didn't like filing them and ruining the design, the finish was nice and it was lovely having a pattern on the nail but i didn't like any of the edges and it just didn't look right :(

I think the idea is great and perhaps I just have weird shaped nails, I think if i wasn't such a perfectionist then maybe I would get them again as it took me no time at all! but, sadly these aren't for me!
