Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser | Review

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore eraser rrp £7.99  is one product to take the highstreet by storm. I've almost finished mine after having it a couple of months. ( Thanks Sam! ) The product itself I think was a tad over hyped. Since the launch of Maybelline Baby lips, from the packaging to the funky colours, there wasn't many beauty blogger that managed to avoid purchasing at least one of the coloured chapsticks. When they announced this little product, people flocked to their local high street store to purchase it and dare I say, I wouldn't purchase this after trying it.

I personally don't have overly large pores but I do have them on my nose and across my cheeks so anything that will offer a form of blur or smooth appearance is always a winner in my books. Baby Skin is a silicone based product that I found did blur my pores slightly but nothing to WOW me if you know what I mean, It was ok but I didn't use it a few times and instantly fall in love. I don't think it smells of anything, maybe a touch of silicone ( cant imagine way :P ) , and texture wise it's certainly not greasy but I find I can use my Kiko Primer ( Link to my review here ) which is also silicone based, and not only is that priming my skin ready to help with a flawless foundation routine, but I find that already helps minimise my pores. I have tried using them together but that made my nose a little oily by the afternoon.

I think for me, Baby Skin was a great product to try, and perhaps if my skin was flawless and I didn't need such a high coverage foundation, I'd be happy to not wear a primer and I'd just want to work with my natural skin, and this product would be great, it would help reduce the pores ( it is makeup at the end of the day so don't expect a miracle ladies) but as I need a high coverage foundation, having a primer to achieve that flawless look is really important to me so sadly, Baby skin just doesn't fit into my routine or work with my current products.

I hope you enjoyed my review! Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser can be purchased from Boots and Superdrug and most other highstreet stores.

  1. I'm yet to try this product but I've heard it's similar to Porefessional from Benefit which I also think is pretty overrated so maybe I'll give it a miss!

    1. It is similar, I think babyskin is more silicone based ( in my opinion ) but only slightly, I never noticed a pore blurring with porefessional but I know others that swear by it! I just don't think my pores are that bad in the first place to maybe benefit from using it, certainly the porefessional at that price every month or however often I'd run out. I think for me, a good primer is far more worth my hard earned pennies!

Thanks for commenting lovely :) <3 xxx

  3. I haven't used the product either as I am a little weary of Maybelline products, it doesn't sound all that great :(

    1. Hi hun, I mean If I didn't need a primer and if I didn't have redness and all that stuff to cover and I just had these huge pores I wanted to minimise and that was my main concern, then yes, I'd tell someone tl check it out as it would be worth trying but for me personally, knowing what I need from products on my face, I don't benefit using this on its own, if I could use it with my primer then I might carry on but as I cant, its one or the other and I'll pick my kiko primer every time :) xx

  5. I was sadly disappointed with baby face :( It was so hyped up too! For me personally, it didn't reduce my pores but as a primer it was just fine. I hardly use it now though, and as you said, just doesn't fit into my routine! Great review :)
