Weight Loss Wednesday | Week 3

image: We<3it Edited by me

Its That time again now with WLW Week 3 and today alongside my stats for the week just gone, I want to mention the little dish I've been loving, along with a few words on Sabotage & Choices!

Week 3 -  Weight and measurements

2 lbs lost this week. Thats now a

total : 9lbs Lost.

Waist : 59.7 inches 59.1 inches (0.6 lost)

+New measurements of

L Thigh : 32.1

So a total of 1.1 inches lost all together :)

---

Food wise this week, I had a lovely week filled with 2 meals out to pizza express ( Yes I took on board points but DID go over on both days and that was MY choice to do :) ) I know I could of lost more If I hadn't of eaten out and If I had tracked EVERY day to my guided calories.

Making sure I use up all my calories is important as I found this week As my body went into ( it sounds silly ) Starvation mode 1or 2 of the days as I didn't eat all my calories for that day. I thought I was making up for when I went over haha but my body  was too smart for that and It thought it was getting less food so started storing my fat. I've been trying to eat little and often to help my metabolism and luckily ( my week runs sunday to sunday ) when I weighed myself sunday, I had lot 2lbs :)

Sabotage vs Choices

I have a very strong opinion on diets when it comes to choices and sabotage. If I am on a diet, I am in control of what I eat. Going into Mcdonalds with a friend while she gets a big mac meal doesn't harm me in any way shape or form. It doesn't make me want to order a 20 Box nugget meal and being on my diet doesn't mean I must avoid anything that isn't meat fruit or veg.
If I want to socialize I'm quite capable of managing my calories either for the meal I'm having or not using as many during the day / week. I can eat anything I want to eat, aslong as I keep track of the calories. If I wanted to fill my day eating my calories worth in kitkats I could. It wouldn't be great, It wouldn't fill me up but I could do it and still probably lose.
It's about choices. I could stick to my points and avoid carbs, chocolate, surgar, wine and all that good (but bad) stuff and be unhappy, be totally aware im on a diet, and be ready to binge the next time I pass KFC on my walk home. By going out, even once a week or once a fortnight I'm actually allowing myself to keep doing this diet longer. I don't feel restricted, I don't feel under pressure. If you are going to have something you know you shouldn't be having. ALLOCATE IT. PLAN IT and for gods sake ENJOY it. savour every last mouthful. Eat it on purpose.

THEN GO BACK TO DOING THE DIET!

Don't feel bad or guilty and then go stuff your face, and put on everything you worked so hard to take off. Have the strength to treat yourself and allow yourself to have it and nothing more till next time.

Sabotage is slightly different, its your friends or family or that bitch at work telling you to try some of their food, " Go on, Just one bite! " or when they tell YOU how it wont effect you " Having some wont be that bad, just dont eat later " People who have little to no regard for your diet and people that are more worried about it then you are.. haha It's funny but it's annoying. " oh sorry, are you ok if I eat this infront of you? I know you are on a diet" ... It's fine, I have more self worth then to see you eating a cupcake and feel I need to aswell or that I'm missing out.

I guess what I'm trying to say is to be in control of your diet. Be in control of it 100%. Let yourself have those treats or those naughty things, not all the time but ALLOW yourself to even on weigh day have a little splurge, induldge in that glass of wine or that scoop of icecream and reward yourself for a good week, then get right back too it and keep working hard till next time.

This works really well for me and it means im now looking onto my week 3 of  my diet with a good attitude, I don't feel like i've missed out or I haven't been craving chocolate. I feel ready to keep going with my diet to have another great week next week :)

rant over ;P

---

So as you may have seen in last weeks post, I'm losing weight with the MyFitnessApp where it tracks my calories eaten and I have already found, If I don't eat enough, I stay the same, but if I eat to my calories ( or nearest ) I lose! So here is what I've been LOVING this week thats helped me feel like I'm eating naughty food when its not too bad!

Home Made Brushchetta

Home Made Brushchetta (415cal)

200g Tomatoes ( any kind really ) Chopped up
Doriano Crackers ( I got them from tesco ) 1 pack contains 6 mini crackers.
1 tablespoon of Olive oil
1 teaspoon of garlic flakes
some chopped up fresh basil
Stir it all together and leave to sit for 5 mins and let the garlic and basil flavour mix into the oil and then spoon it onto the crackers or use the crackers to scoop out his deliciousness.

Olive oil and the crackers are the most points in this, If you wanted to substitute the crackers for melba toast that would be better ( the nume melba toast is 77calories for 6) But I like the others as they fill me up a bit more :)

Here is my tracker, If you click on it, it takes you to my My Fitness Pal page where you can add me if you are a member! If you aren't a member, then you could be :P

  4. I used this app maybe around a year and a half ago after my exams but before the holidays, and although I never weighed or measured myself, I felt good and my jeans felt looser. However summer holidays came and I found myself not having time to update (as sometimes it is tedious adding everything in - it may have changed since) so I stopped, and within weeks I am sure I put the weight back on as I didnt maintain a healthy way of eating. Have always been tempted to start it back up, but I'm not sure if I can maintain the time it takes daily. Is it easy to use now? Love your post, so motivational to start again! xxx

    1. Hey Helena!
Thanks for the comment! I cant really say its easier now then it was a year and a half ago as I haven't been using it that long. I couldn't tell you if its changed alot. Sorry in advance if this turns into a long winded comment but you've taken the time to comment so I want to take the time to give you a detailed decent reply lol,

With the App obviously it has each day to start with and lets you input meals into your morning, lunch, dinner, snacks category and has categorys for exercise. With the food, although I don't eat the same thing everyday I do give myself 5 minutes to add it all. Im not sure how you were inputing what you were eating into the app, but I use the scan function, Having the wrapper infront of me be it of the bread or the box of grapes, Ill scan the barcode and it will come up ( 9/10 ) with what Im eating and give me either a portion estimate or the whole contents of what I scanned. With the bread for example it shows how many calories that is per slice and gives me the oppertunity to say the quantity before I add it, So i can easily make it 2 and add it to breakfast and thats in about 40 seconds. obviously now that breads stored, so say most days I have jam on taost? I would just add the butter, using the same process ( i like alot of butter so mines 30g on the 2 bits of toast ) and then ill add my jam. I can then save this as a meal to whatever I want to name it as so then everyday if this is a meal for me, Instead of scanning each thing or finding it in the previously used food, i click meals and click it and voila. all 3 items pop up!

I know it sounds... TMI but even if im on the run, Ill cut out the barcodes and take them with me to work so I can scan them when I have a second hahaha or fill in my tracker on the loo ( dont laugh )... I guess for me I want to make time to do it because Im seeing results and find if I dont put it in, i either eat too little or too much and the only way is to track haha For me I get the best results doing that.. If you need a buddy on there you can totally add me and we can motivate one another :)

Sorry this was long lol but yeah :)

    2. Ahhh, i've just seen that you replied, i got no email for it, hmmm :/
Anyways - that sound soooo much easier than when i used to use it, there was never a scan function, so I might just have to download it again. I really did see improvements from it because I used to have to be like, 'well i can have this, if i dont have this' It was so helpful! Defo gonna try. Thankyou sooooo much for putting the effort into sending a massive reply for me!

  8. Great post, GO LUCIE! I'm glad you're putting these posts up (think I said that last week but what the heck, I'm saying it again). I hope you continue the posts, they are nice to read and know that I'm not the only person struggling with eating and limiting the good (but bad) foods! I think that restriction/sabotage is just as unhealthy for your mind. If you limit yourself you're just going to want that limit more. Just like when I label myself "on a diet" I want to eat the entire marketplace of their junk food! I'm thinking about starting a post on my blog as a "health" tracker of sorts, but it's thanks to your inspiration that I feel like I want to get that going. Waiting on next week ;)

    Much Love,
